JANUARY HAS PROVED to be a cold, wet, rainy month, and February isn’t looking much better – and it’s especially hard on the people who are less able to avoid the horrible conditions.
Limerick artist Audrey Ryan, who previously started a Christmas Facebook campaign in aid of Limerick-based homeless charity Novas, has asked people to donate any coats or jackets they’re no longer wearing.
She and the staff of Chez le Fab near Arthur’s Quay Park have set up a rail that will stay outside 24 hours a day, sheltered by the cafe’s canopy.
Those who need some warm outerwear can take them as they need them – and as you can see, they’ve already gathered quite a few coats:
A kind gesture from the very kind people of Limerick.
